Our philosophy is to be as environmentally aware as possible. First of all we fundamentally believe each individual is responsible for its own ecological footprint and we request this also from our guest with regards to using proper diving technique to minimize damage to the reef.
Boutique resort
Afro Divers Lodge is the best scuba diving lodge in East Africa! This resort is developed by dive professionals and travel enthusiasts, applying years of experience to create the best possible emotion a diver can wish for. With us you are able to dive up to four times a day. However the lodge is also very well suited for non-divers or having a day off from diving, thanks to its spacious design and eye for detail you expect from a nice boutique hotel!

Mother nature rules Afro Lodge but with all the amenities for a comfortable stay. The air conditioned rooms are spacious, comfortable and have an amazing view.

About our rooms
10 rooms: 5 ground rooms and 5 first floor rooms.
6 Superior Rooms of 40 meters square each, able to host a family (or friends) up to 4 persons.
2 Standard Rooms are 30 meters square.
All rooms have 10 meters square terrace and 10 meters square bathrooms.
All rooms consists of AC, a ceiling fan and WIFi.
All rooms have view on the ocean as well as our two gigantic baobab trees! A very unique view!
All buildings are build with the best materials, ensuring for a good sound insulation to enjoy your privacy.
Afro Divers' style
Since we are operating Afro Divers (from 2020) we always have been emphasizing on natural and authentic look. We are building and decorating with the items we find around us in Pemba.
Our Afro Divers Lodge is affordable for mid range, comparable with other three/four star lodges in the Zanzibar Archipelago. Nonetheless, with the combination of our colourful and warm style, two massive baobab trees in the middle of the property and our boutique dive center we want to stand out from the others.
Bar and restaurant
For its 10 rooms and divers Afro Divers Lodge offers full restaurant service. Booking with us usually goes with half boards, meaning breakfast and three course dinner are included in the rates.
Walk-in guests are always welcome!
Our dishes are changing everyday,varying from fish dishes, to chicken, beef and vegetarian. We are using fresh, local and seasonal products from Pemba and its surrounding.
Our local chefs can cook endlessly and through experience often blending in western styles with their work. Enjoy every moment of your time from our palm-roof restaurant overlooking the Indian Ocean.
